Margaret Traeger is an assistant professor of IT, analytics, and operations in Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. She is a faculty affiliate of both the Notre Dame Technology Ethics Center and the University’s Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society. Her research focuses primarily on social networks, health analytics, and computational social science.

Traeger completed her Ph.D. in sociology at Yale University in the Human Nature Lab of the Yale Institute for Network Science. She also holds an MPH in health behavior and health education from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in biology from the University of Wisconsin.
