Notre Dame-IBM Technology Ethics Lab Director
The University of Notre Dame’s Technology Ethics Center (ND-TEC) seeks a founding director for the newly-announced Notre Dame-IBM Technology Ethics Lab.
The Notre Dame-IBM Technology Ethics Lab, founded in partnership with IBM, will serve as the primary vehicle through which the ND-TEC engages with private industry, policymakers, and public interest groups to develop policy and inform industry best practices relating to technology ethics. ND-TEC, the result of the University’s substantial investment in technology ethics, develops and supports multi-disciplinary research on questions related to the impact of technology on humanity.
Building upon the academic expertise of ND-TEC faculty and affiliated fellows, the Technology Ethics Lab’s mission is to be a global leader in the area of technology ethics, including the ethics of new technologies such as artificial intelligence. It will engage leading technology ethics experts, policymakers, and government and industry leaders to work together on important technology ethics questions and develop practical applications for the best research on a range of topics.
